Straight answers

What a clean will and won't fix.

  • Old set-in sweat marks often fade rather than vanish — we tell you which yours is before we start
  • We clean and sanitise; we don't repair sagging, broken springs or torn covers
  • We work in living spaces only — not basements, garages or storage

About dust mites. Hot water extraction removes the dust, dead skin and debris they feed on, along with the mites themselves. It is a deep clean, not a medical treatment — if someone in the house has a diagnosed allergy, talk to their doctor as well as to us.

How we do it

Seven steps.
Every time.

Every job runs the same seven steps, from inspection to fabric protection. That's what separates looking clean from being clean.

  1. 01

    Inspection

We check the fabric and how each mark got there — a fresh spill isn't treated like ground-in dirt — and flag anything that might be permanent before we start, not after you've paid.

  2. 02

    Pre-vacuum

Dry soil comes out first with a thorough vacuum pass. Skip this and it just turns to mud the moment water goes on.

  3. 03

    Pre-spray

A pre-spray matched to the fabric breaks down embedded dirt and oils before any water touches it — wool gets a different mix to synthetic, not the same bottle for everything.

  4. 04

    Hand cleaning

The worst of it gets worked by hand, with a brush suited to the fabric, before the machine ever touches it.

  5. 05

    Extraction wash

Hot water and cleaning solution go in under pressure, deep enough to reach the padding, and come straight back out through the same machine in the same pass — Kärcher and Chemspec.

  6. 06

    Rinse

A final rinse with clean water only, until every trace of the cleaning solution is gone. Skip this and residue attracts new dirt within weeks.

  7. 07

    Allergen neutralising

Optional, A$30 an item. An extra pass that targets dust mites and the residue they leave behind.

Stains

Half of them
come out clean.

Stain treatment is part of the price. Across the mattresses we have cleaned, about half come back completely clean. The rest keep something — and we would rather tell you which before we start than after you have paid.

Fresh blood is worth a phone call. It comes out reliably — but only if nobody has poured hot water on it and the patch is still damp when the technician arrives. Hot water sets it for good.

What usually stays

  • Old yellowing that has been there for years
  • Urine soaked deep into the foam
  • Marks that have already damaged the fibres
  • Anything previously treated with supermarket stain remover

Extraction reaches 2 to 3 cm into the mattress. What sits deeper than that is beyond any cleaning method, ours included.

Why it matters

A third of your life,
face down.

Changing the sheets keeps the surface clean. Everything that soaks through stays where it landed — inside the cover and the foam under it.

  • Up to 75 litres of sweat a year go into the mattress you sleep on
  • Skin flakes collect with it — and they are what dust mites live on
  • Mites are under half a millimetre across; it is their droppings, not the mites, that people react to
  • They breed fastest around 25 °C and 70% humidity. Keeping the bedroom at 20–22 °C slows them down

More on what indoor dust is actually made of in our article on dust and allergies, and on the cleaning itself in why a mattress needs washing.

Add-on

Allergoff,
after the clean.

Extraction removes what is in the mattress today. Allergoff is what keeps it from coming back: applied once the mattress is clean, it stops mites re-establishing for up to six months.

Worth it if anyone in the house sneezes in the morning, wakes up blocked up or has been told they react to dust. Ask for it when you book — it is listed as Allergen neutralising in the price list and adds A$30 per mattress.

It is a treatment, not a cure. If someone in the house has a diagnosed allergy, this is one thing that helps, not a replacement for what their doctor said.
