Cookies on this website
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits. It is the only third-party tool on the site, and the only reason any cookie is set at all. Two are used:
- _ga — tells a returning visit apart from a new one. Stored for two years.
- _ga_RVFZC2LB1R — holds the state of your current visit, so one session is not counted as several. Stored for two years.
Both hold nothing but a randomly generated number. They do not contain your name, your email address, your street address, or anything you typed into the booking form.
What is not here: no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no social media widgets, no embedded videos, no embedded maps, no session recording and no heatmaps. Nothing on this site follows you to another website.
What we actually see
Which pages were opened and for how long, roughly which city the visit came from, whether it was a phone or a computer, and which search or link brought you here. This is counting, not identification. We cannot tell from it who you are, and we do not try to.
Google shortens IP addresses before storing them, so your full address is never recorded.
Why there is no consent banner
Australian privacy law requires us to tell you what we collect. It does not require a pop-up asking permission for basic visit statistics. We would rather give you the plain explanation on this page than a box to click away.
If you would rather not be counted, any one of these works:
- install Google's own Analytics opt-out add-on — it covers every site, not just this one;
- block cookies for 7clean.au in your browser settings, or open the site in a private window;
- use a content blocker. Most of them stop Google Analytics by default.
Refusing changes nothing about the service. The site works the same, and your booking goes through the same way.
The one thing we store ourselves
Separately from Google, the price calculator saves your draft in your own browser so a refresh or an accidental back button does not wipe what you picked.
- What is stored: the items and quantities you selected, any options you switched on, and the time slot you chose.
- Where: your browser's local storage, under the name sevenclean.draft.v1.
- Whether it leaves your device: no. It stays in your browser and is only transmitted when you press the button to send the booking, at which point it becomes your booking request.
- How long: until you send the booking, at which point it is deleted automatically. If you never send it, it stays until you clear it.
- How to remove it yourself: clear site data for 7clean.au in your browser settings, or use a private window.
Local storage is not a cookie and is not shared with anyone, Google included. We mention it here because it is data kept on your device, and you are entitled to know about it.
When you leave this site
The buttons for WhatsApp, text message and email hand you over to another service. Once you follow one of those, that service's own privacy and cookie terms apply and this policy no longer covers what happens.
If this changes
If anything beyond visit counting is ever added to this website — advertising pixels, retargeting, session recording — this page will be updated before it goes live, and it will be named here in the same plain terms. We will not add tracking quietly and describe it afterwards.
